Giant Contact TR35

Handlebar

The handlebar and stem are where your hands steer the bike. Their width and length set how upright or stretched out you sit.

Giant Contact Ergo Trail

Saddle

The saddle and seatpost carry your weight. The height of the seatpost sets your pedalling position.

Giant Contact Switch AT dropper

Dropper post

A dropper post lowers the saddle from a remote on the handlebar, so you can move freely on descents; raised again, it brings back your pedalling height.

ALUXX-grade aluminum

Frame

The frame is the bike's backbone: every other part is fixed to it. Its material and shape decide its weight and how it feels to ride.

Fox Rhythm

Rear shock

The rear shock lets the back wheel move over bumps. Its travel is how far the rear wheel can move; it is tuned to the rider's weight.

Giant STL 34 dual air · 140 mm

Fork

The fork holds the front wheel. A suspension fork absorbs bumps at the front; its travel is how far it can compress.

Tektro HD-M5141 · 180 mm

Brakes

Brakes slow the bike. Disc brakes squeeze a rotor fixed to the wheel hub; rim brakes squeeze the wheel rim itself.

Shimano CUES RD-U6000

Drivetrain

The drivetrain turns your pedalling into motion: the cranks, the chain, the cassette and the derailleur that changes gear.

F] Maxxis Dissector · 61 mm

Tyres

Tyres are the bike's only contact with the ground. Their width and tread decide grip, comfort and rolling speed.

Weight
The most accurate way to determine any bike’s weight is to have your local dealer weigh it for you. Many brands strive to list the lowest possible weight, but in reality weight can vary based on size, finish, hardware and accessories. All our bikes are designed for best-in-class weight and ride quality.
